When a team member leaves
What to do when a member leaves your Everabyte team: revoke access, review sessions and devices, update permissions, review shared links, check logs.
When a team member leaves, a few checks keep your shared space safe and up to date: access revoked, sessions closed, permissions and shared links reviewed. Use the checklist below.
In short
When a member leaves: revoke their access, review their active sessions and connected devices, update permissions on shared folders, review the shared links they created, and check the activity logs where available.
Offboarding checklist
1. Revoke the member’s access
Revoke the departing member’s access, so they can no longer reach the team’s shared resources.
2. Review sessions and devices
Review the active sessions and the devices connected to the member’s account, and disconnect them if needed.
3. Update permissions on shared folders
Update the permissions on the folders shared with this member, so the remaining members keep the access they need — and no one else does.
4. Review shared links
Review the shared links the member created. Revoke or update any link that should no longer be active: see Sharing files.
5. Check activity logs
Where available, check the activity logs for the events relevant to security: see Team roles and permissions.
Note — For organization-level changes, contact support at [[email protected]](mailto:[email protected]).
Handing over the member’s work
Automatic data transfer from one member to another is not a documented Everabyte feature. Before the departure, have the member download the files your team still needs, before their access is revoked.
Common issues
Are the member’s files transferred automatically?
No, automatic transfer between members is not documented. Ask the member to download what is needed before their access is revoked, and contact support for organization-level changes.
Do the shared links created by the member stay active?
Review the links they created, and revoke or update the ones that should no longer be active.
How do I revoke access?
Revoke the member’s access from your team administration. If in doubt about your plan’s capabilities, contact support.
Can I review the member’s activity?
Where available, the activity log records security-relevant events: see Team roles and permissions.
