Protecting your data does not stop at encryption. Everabyte’s backup model combines object versioning, snapshot protection, trash retention, retention controls where enabled and verified restores so your files remain recoverable when something goes wrong.
In short
Deleted files sit in trash for 30 days and can be restored. Object versioning lets you recover previous file versions, and snapshot protection adds recovery safeguards where configured. Retention and Object Lock controls are available where enabled for the relevant storage configuration: retained objects cannot be modified or deleted until their configured retention period ends. Restores can be verified before recovery. Availability varies by plan and configuration.

One storage region per environment
Each object resides in one region at one provider; multi-region replication is not part of the standard storage model. Availability is covered by the 99.99% uptime SLA on paid plans marked “with SLA” and by the provider’s own resilience measures.
Retention and Object Lock, explained simply
Object Lock is a storage mode in which a retained object is written once, then can no longer be modified or deleted until its retention period ends. These controls are available where enabled for the relevant storage configuration and provider — they are not applied automatically to every file or every plan. Where they are enabled, they strongly limit the effect of an accidental or malicious deletion on a locked object.
Retention periods you control
Retention periods are set by you where the feature is enabled for your configuration. Pick the duration based on your retention needs.
Note — A retention lock commits you for the duration you choose: data under lock cannot be modified or deleted during that period.
Verified restores
Before any recovery, verified clean restores confirm backup integrity: what you restore has been checked first.
Common issues
Can I modify or delete data placed under a retention lock?
No: for the duration of the lock, the data cannot be modified or deleted. Retention and Object Lock controls are available where enabled for the relevant storage configuration and provider.
What happens if a storage region has an incident?

How long are deleted files kept?
