Retention locks you set — from 30 days to 5 years — prevent any modification or deletion during the chosen period.

WORM, explained simply

WORM stands for “Write Once, Read Many”. In practice: data placed under a retention lock is written once, then can no longer be modified or deleted until the defined period ends. This strongly limits the effect of an accidental or malicious deletion on a locked backup.

Multi-site replication

Your data does not live on a single site: it is replicated across multiple datacenter locations. Everabyte applies 6+3 erasure coding spread across 7 Tier III+ datacenters, with tested failover. Data is split into fragments — 6 data fragments and 3 parity fragments — distributed across the sites: the loss or unavailability of part of the fragments does not prevent your files from being reconstructed.

Retention locks you control

Retention locks are set by you, for a duration from 30 days to 5 years. Backups, for their part, rotate on a rolling 90-day cycle.

Before any recovery, verified clean restores confirm backup integrity: what you restore has been checked first.

Can I modify or delete data placed under a retention lock?
