Data residency: storage regions

Where is your data stored? Each environment stores its objects in a single region at a single provider. This article explains how data residency works, who can choose a storage region, what stays in the UK and how any transfers are protected.

In short

Individual accounts default to London. Choosing a different storage region is available to Company owners with an active EverStream or EverBlaze plan (including an active trial), under the product rules in effect. The storage region is separate from your account, billing and log data, which stays in the UK — except limited cross-region processing for authentication, billing and DDoS mitigation, described in our Privacy Policy.

The 12 storage regions

• Europe: London (default for individual accounts), Amsterdam, Frankfurt, Paris, Milan.
• North America: Toronto, Oregon, San Jose, Virginia.
• Asia-Pacific: Tokyo, Sydney, Singapore.

One region per environment

Each object resides in its assigned storage region within Everabyte’s storage infrastructure; there is no standard automatic cross-region replication. Stored files keep layered encryption — see The Everabyte encryption model for how files are protected.

What stays in the UK

Regardless of the storage region, account, support and log data stays in the UK. Limited cross-region processing happens for authentication, billing and DDoS mitigation: these exceptions are described in our Privacy Policy, which is authoritative on this point.
