Monthly or annual billing
Monthly and annual billing at Everabyte: period-by-period renewal, the 15% annual discount, a reminder 7 days before renewal, and cancelling any time.
Every Everabyte plan can be billed monthly or annually. The two modes differ in payment rhythm, price, and how the subscription renews. This article covers each point.
In short
Monthly billing renews your subscription period by period; annual billing saves 15%. A subscription only renews automatically if you actively opted in, and a reminder is sent at least 7 days before each renewal.
Monthly billing
With monthly billing, your subscription renews period by period. You pay for each period as it comes and can stop before the next one: this is the most flexible mode if your needs change quickly.
Annual billing
With annual billing, you pay for twelve months at once and save 15% compared with monthly billing. This is the most cost-effective mode if you know your storage need will remain stable over time.
Automatic renewal
Two rules govern the renewal of your subscription:
- Renewal requires your active opt-in. Your subscription does not auto-renew unless you have actively opted in. A pre-ticked box, a default setting or silence is not consent.
- You are notified in advance. A reminder is sent at least 7 days before each renewal, with the renewal date, the amount, and how to cancel.
Cancelling before renewal
You can cancel at any time, effective at the end of the current paid period, and you keep access to your account until then. Cancellation is done from your Account settings, or by emailing [email protected]. See Cancelling your subscription for the full procedure.
Note — Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current paid period: you keep access to your account until that date, without being charged for the following period.
Common issues
When will I be notified of a renewal?
At least 7 days before, by a reminder that includes the renewal date, the amount, and how to cancel.
Can I cancel at any time?
Yes: cancellation takes effect at the end of the current paid period, and you keep access until that date.
Will I get a refund for the unused period?
No partial or pro-rated refunds are given for unused time or partly used billing periods, except where the law requires it. See our Terms and Conditions.
How do I switch from monthly to annual billing?
Changing your plan is possible; the exact billing terms of a mid-period change depend on your subscription. If in doubt, contact support before changing: see Changing your plan.
