Scope

A secure file layer, not an EHR

Healthcare teams already run clinical systems. Everabyte does not replace them; it gives them a controlled place to store and exchange the documents those systems produce.

What you store

Clinical documents, imaging exports, laboratory reports, research files and administrative records — stored as files in structured folders.

What you can share

Selected files or folders with named colleagues, partner organisations or patients, using permissions or protected links with an expiry date.

What it is not

Everabyte is not an EHR, a PACS viewer or a DICOM diagnostic tool. Imaging files can be stored and shared, but they are not interpreted by our platform.

Where it fits

Four environments, four file problems

The storage rules differ between a clinic, a laboratory, a research group and an administrative team. The folder model should reflect that.

Clinics & hospitals

Keep clinical documents, consent forms and administrative files in department folders, with access limited to the care teams that need them.

Laboratories

Store reports, instrument exports and reference material in a controlled workspace, with file versions preserved when a result is corrected.

Medical research

Organise research datasets, protocols and ethics documentation by study, and share selected files with authorised collaborators.

Healthcare administration

Handle supplier documents, internal policies and operational records without mixing them into clinical folders.

Secure handover

A document moves, the record stays

One controlled path for a file leaving the originating team and reaching an authorised specialist.

  1. Upload

A clinician or administrator adds a document to the appropriate folder. Transfer is protected with TLS 1.3.

  2. Assign access

The folder owner grants view or download rights to a named colleague, a team role or an external specialist.

  3. Review

Authorised professionals open the latest version. Access events and downloads appear in the activity log.

  4. Close the loop

Expiring links are revoked, or the file is moved to an archive folder with the retention period your organisation set.

The link is not the record

A share link is a temporary access path, not a copy of the clinical record. Revoking it closes that path while the file and its versions remain in the workspace.

Access & confidentiality

Controls that match clinical workflows

Access should be narrow enough to protect the patient and practical enough that care teams keep using the system.

  • Encryption everywhere. AES-256-GCM protects stored files; TLS 1.3 protects data in transit.
  • Named access. Grant view, download or edit rights per person or role, and revoke them when a rotation ends.
  • Share links with limits. Add a password, an expiry date and a maximum number of unique visitors to external links.
  • Activity you can review. Access and download events are recorded on plans that include audit logging.
What we do and do not claim

Everabyte does not claim HIPAA certification, a signed BAA by default, or native EHR/PACS integration. Encryption, access control and logging can support a healthcare compliance programme; the contractual and regulatory details must be confirmed for your deployment.

Map your clinical file flows before you migrate

Tell us which documents leave your clinical systems, who receives them, and how long they must be retained. We will help scope a storage model and a review process.

Regulatory claims are confirmed in writing for each deployment; this page is not a certification statement.
